Gourmet Dinner Friday, Abril 26 Couples World-Class Wines, Regional Delicacies in ‘Oregon’s Town & Country Affair’

Para obtener más información, contacto: María Deatrick, Cámara de Representantes 407-332-5212, mary@deatrickpr.com Facebook/RosenCentre and Everglades Restaurant Twitter/RosenHotelsNews and RosenEats Pinterest/RosenCentre Photography available at http://www.rosencentre.com/media-and-press/press-gallery/ ORLANDO (Abril 8, 2013)– Food and wine that capture the fusion of free-spirited nature with the stylish sophistication of the Pacific Northwest are the inspiration behind a tasty trip along the Oregon Trail during the next Vine & Dine event at the Rosen Centre and its award-winning Everglades restaurant. This latest exclusive, one-of-a-kind dining experience begins at 6:30 p.m. Viernes, Abril 26. Everglades Head Chef Fred Vlachos will create a unique, five-course “Oregon’s Town & Country Affair” inspired by the scenic Dundee Hills wine country of the Beaver State and the contemporary style that defines its most populous city, Portland. Each course will be paired with wines that include famous Pinot Gris and Pinot Noirs from the best of Oregon’s 300 or so wineries such as Chehalem, Lange Estate (Wine & Spirits magazine 2012 Winery of the Year) and Shea Vineyards, which are blessed with grapes similar to those grown in the Alsace and Burgundy regions of France because of the region’s similar soil and climate. Chef Fred will start off the evening with an elegant King Prawn salad accented by Raspberry and Cardamom coulis, followed by a traditionally rustic Morel Chicken Pot Pie. The intermezzo is a plum sorbet that sets the stage for Venison Steak with Oregon Black Porter Sauce. The main course will be accompanied by Shea Vineyard Estate 2009 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, voted seventh on Wine Spectator magazines “Top 100 of 2012.” Concluding the experience is a beautiful Pear Tarte Tatin, which takes the French dessert classic made with apples and gives it a true Oregon twist using pears and hazelnuts. “Oregon’s Town & Country Affair” will be followed by two more Vine & Dine events in coming months. “It’s All a Blend” on Friday, Mayo 17 will showcase blended wines and fusion food. Then on Friday, Junio 28, Chef Fred will create a wine-and-dinner pairing of the century, of sorts: “Robert Mondavi’s 100th Birthday” honors the wine icon’s best wines and favorite dishes. Each Vine & Dine event begins with a reception in Everglades Bar featuring a welcome wine or unique wine cocktail. The group then adjourns to Everglades restaurant – offering a comfortable, yet refined setting that evokes the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere of the Florida Everglades – for a multi-course gourmet dinner highlighted by fresh, ingredientes de temporada y vinos seleccionados por expertos para complementar la cocina. During dinner, guests may engage in casual conversation about wines with an experienced wine maker or knowledgeable sommelier chosen for each event. Guests can also enter to win exciting raffle prizes, such as bottles of wine, wine-related items or hotel stays. An intimate dining experience, each Vine & Dine event is limited to no more than 40 invitados, ensuring personal attention for each attendee. The cost of each Vine & Dine dinner is $75 por persona, plus tax and 20 percent gratuity. Diners may make their evenings even more special by spending the night in a deluxe guest room for a special rate. As with all Everglades dining experiences, valet parking is complimentary. For Vine & Dine reservations and more details, llamada 407-996-8560. Para obtener más información, visita www.evergladesrestaurant.com o www.rosencentre.com. Vine & Dine dinners can be customized for private group events. The Everglades restaurant’s extensive wine list, which features an array of wines from all regions, winemaking styles and price points, allows the culinary team to work with event and meeting planners to arrange unique experiences within any budget. The restaurant also offers an extensive selection of organic wines from wineries that share the hotel’s passion for protecting the environment and creating quality products in a sustainable manner. Hoteles Rosen & Resorts se une a la nación en el apoyo a las iniciativas verdes con marzo 23 La Hora del Planeta Eventos

Comunicados de prensa

Para obtener más información, contacto: María Deatrick, Cámara de Representantes 407-332-5212 , mary@deatrickpr.com Follow us on Facebook@RosenHotels Follow us on Twitter@RosenHotelsOrl ORLANDO (Marzo 21, 2013) – While Rosen Hotels & Resorts prides itself on practicing green initiatives 24 hours a day with little fanfare or promotion, the company will be highlighting one of those hours this Saturday during the national Earth Hour celebration to help educate hotel guests about the importance of living as eco-friendly as possible. Earth Hour is a global environmental initiative in partnership with WWF (World Wildlife Fund) in which individuals, businesses, governments and communities are invited to turn out their lights for one hour from 8:30 p.m. a 9:30 p.m. on Saturday March 23, 2013 to show their support for environmentally sustainable action. The seven Orlando Rosen Hotels & Resorts properties will be turning off all non-essential interior and exterior lighting to include the rose garden and fountains at Rosen Shingle Creek, Rosen Centre and Rosen Plaza. Adicionalmente, special activities such as candlelit dinners and glow drinks for guests will be served in hotel restaurants. Hoteles Rosen & Resorts and its seven Orlando hotels will be joining hundreds of millions of participants in more than 7,000 cities and towns, in 152 countries and territories, and across seven continents in showing support for the importance of sustainable action around the world. “We don’t claim to be the first hotel group to implement a green meetings initiative, nor do we claim to be the experts, but we can say that we have been practicing conservation efforts for many years and continue to look for ways to reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible,"Dijo Harris Rosen, Presidente & Director de Operaciones de Hoteles Rosen & Resorts. Hoteles Rosen & Resorts’ three Orlando convention properties, the 800-room Rosen Plaza, 1334-room Rosen Centre and 1500-room Rosen Shingle Creek, were each designated Two Palm Green Lodges in 2009 under the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)’s Florida Green Lodging Program. Launched in March 2004, the Florida Green Lodging Program establishes environmental guidelines for hotels to conserve natural resources and prevent pollution. Long before Florida’s Green Lodging program was established, Hoteles Rosen & Resorts has made efforts to be responsible stewards of the area’s resources. Por ejemplo, each of the hotels offers guests the opportunity to use linens and towels more than once, and each has water-efficient toilets and washing machines. Outdoor lighting and back-of-house lighting is operated by sensors. Programmable thermostats, Energy-Star appliances and paper and newspaper recycling programs are among the many ways the hotels lessen their eco-footprint. Rosen Shingle Creek goes as far as to convert used cooking oil into bio-fuel to operate its golf course maintenance equipment. A website www.rosengreenmeetings.com shows meeting planners the ways in which Rosen Hotels & Resorts is already working to help the environment, provides 10 meeting planner tips for holding a greener meeting and offers numerous links to learning more about “going green.” Rosen Hotels & Resorts also offers its associates the opportunity to conserve resources by offering Lynx bus passes via a payroll deduction program, posts a directory of associates interested in carpooling and offers alternate work schedules of four 10-hour days in certain departments to help reduce gas costs. These energy-saving programs are imperceptible to hotel guests, proving that upscale accommodations don’t have to waste resources such as water and energy, to provide a superior guest experience. “Guests may never notice the small changes we’ve made to help save our planet, but we do them because it’s simply the right thing to do,", Dijo Rosen. “Those guests who do take note applaud our efforts because they, demasiado, are socially responsible citizens who are concerned about the effects man has on his environment.” Over the past 38 años, Hoteles Rosen & Resorts has grown from 256 to approximately 6,300 rooms, approximately six percent of the total guest rooms in Central Florida. Hoy, the Rosen family of hotels includes three award-winning meetings properties — Rosen Shingle Creek, Rosen Centre and Rosen Plazaand four leisure properties — Quality Inn International, Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando, Rosen Inn closest to Universal and Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista. All seven Rosen Hotels are located in the Orlando tourism corridor and remain committed to providing outstanding value for all guests. Harris Rosen Fundación dona $1 Millones para ayudar a construir nuevas villas en Give Kids The World

Comunicados de prensa

Hotelier and Philanthropist Donates to Organization’s Capital Expansion Project to Help Accommodate More Children with Life-Threatening Illnesses KISSIMMEE, Florida. (Diciembre 18, 2012) – Orlando hotelier and recognized philanthropist Harris Rosen, president of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, has donated $1 million to Give Kids The World (GKTW) towards the construction of 64 new villas which will accommodate more children with life-threatening illnesses and their families visiting the nonprofit resort for a once-in-a-lifetime dream vacation. The donation, which was made through the Harris Rosen Foundation, will go towards GKTW’s $40 million Capital Expansion and Improvement project, which is part of a larger $120 millones, four-year Village Campaign. “Give Kids The World got an early Christmas present this week when I received a phone call that all non-profits dream of getting,” said GKTW President Pamela Landwirth. “Mr. Rosen’s incredible gift not only jump-starts the fundraising for our new villas, but also provides the inspiration to hope for many more generous gifts in support of our campaign.” Rosen is a widely recognized and respected hotelier, community builder, father and philanthropist who founded Rosen Hotels & Resorts in 1974 before donating 25 acres of land and $10 million to the University of Central Florida in 2002 to develop the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at UCF. Students from Rosen College volunteer regularly at GKTW, following their founder’s mantra of giving back to the community. Rosen has a long history of giving to those in need, particularly children. “I realize what an incredibly fortunate individual I am because I have been able to achieve so much more than I ever imagined, and now I have an opportunity to give back, something I have always wanted to do,", Dijo Rosen. “My hope is that others in my position will recognize their duty to engage in what I refer to as ‘responsible capitalism’ and to use their success and wealth to benefit others, simply because it’s the right thing to do.” Every year, GKTW welcomes more than 7,000 families from around the world for a weeklong, cost-free vacation complete with accommodations in whimsical villas, meals, donated attractions tickets, nightly entertainment and more. However, with only 140 villas on the 70-acre resort, nearly 500 of those families must stay off-site at nearby hotels. Rosen’s gift will allow more children and their families the opportunity to experience the magic of staying at the whimsical Village where ice cream is served for breakfast, Christmas comes once a week and 6-foot-tall bunny rabbits named Mayor Clayton and Ms. Merry tuck the children in at night. Hoy, Rosen had the opportunity to meet one of the families who will be helped because of his gift. The Vandiver Family from Pelham, Ala., is staying at Give Kids The World Village this week as part of 4-year-old Abigail’s wish to visit Walt Disney World. Diagnosed with cancer at seven months old, “Abby” has been cancer-free for three and half years. Rosen shared in the family’s fun this morning by indulging in ice cream for breakfast – a tradition a Give Kids The World Village – with Abby and siblings Patrick, 10, and Sarah, 7. Afterwards, he joined the children for a ride on the Village’s Enchanted Carousel. Watching her children’s faces light up with joy as the carousel spun around, Abby’s mother, Amy, remarked, “I stay at home with the children and my husband is a police officer so being [at Give Kids The World Village] is something we could never have afforded on our own. It is truly the vacation of a lifetime.” For more information on GKTW’s Village Campaign, por favor visite: http://www.givekidstheworld.org/campaign/ About Give Kids The World Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) is a 70-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Wine Pairing Dinner Thursday July 26 to Feature Master Sommelier Andrew McNamara Presenting Wines from South America and Chile Para obtener más información, contacto: María Deatrick, Cámara de Representantes 407-332-5212, mary@deatrickpr.com Facebook/RosenCentre and Everglades Restaurant Twitter/RosenHotels and RosenEats Photography available at http://www.rosencentre.com/photos ORLANDO (Julio 24, 2012) – Rosen Centre’s popular Vine & Dine wine pairing series is heating up and heading south this summer — south of the equator, es decir, as the award-winning hotel presents “A Different View of the World: The South American Perspective” on Thursday, Julio 26 en 6:30 p.m. Andrew McNamara, Master Sommelier at Premier Beverage, a leading distributor of wine and spirits in Florida, will select wines from Argentina and Chile to pair with a six-course South American inspired menu developed by Everglades Chef, Fred Vlachos. The six-course meal begins with a selection of Spanish Cheeses paired with a Bodega Colome Torrontes, Argentina 2011, followed by a Lobster and Artichoke Salad topped with Green Gazpacho Vinaigrette, Shaved Fennel and Olive Oil Caviar paired with a Montes “Limited Selection” Sauvignon Blanc, Chile 2011. The third course features White Asparagus Soup with Mussels Escabeche paired with a Santa Ema “Amplus” Chardonnay, Chile 2009. Guests may cleanse their palates with a refreshing Papaya Lime Sorbet before indulging in the main course, a succulent New York Strip Steak drizzled with Sherry Sauce and topped with Green Chili Aioli. Two wines will be served with the main course – a Colome Malbec, Argentina 2009 and Errazuriz Carmenere, Chile 2011. For dessert, Chef Vlachos will serve a Chocolate Cream Cheese & Chipolte Empanada and Grilled Pineapple Arroz con Leche enhanced with an Errazuriz Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc, Chile 2010. During the dinner, McNamara will share with guests his extensive knowledge of South American wines and discuss the differences in the winemaking process in the southern hemisphere. As the seasons are reversed below the equator, what patrons may know about the growing season for California wines, for example, no longer applies in Argentina, Chile and other South American countries. McNamara has been a Master Sommelier with Premier Beverage in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area for more than three years. Prior to joining the privately held company, he served as the Wine Department Chairman for the Professional Culinary Institute, which offers the only Court of Master Sommelier’s approved program. He is a member of numerous wine associations including the Aspiring Masters of Wine, Wine Reviews, Wine Tasting Argentina, Wine Tasting Chile, Wine Tasting Uruguay and World’s Best Sommeliers and Wine Writers. ORLANDO (Junio 13, 2012) – Rosen Centre’s Everglades Restaurant is known for its upscale dining and wine pairing events, including its popular Vine & Dine series featuring renowned sommeliers and wine experts, but the International Drive hotel continues to raise the bar on local gourmet culinary events with the second of its three-part culinary series featuring its President & COO, Harris Rosen along with Orlando food critic, De Scott Joseph.
“Dinner with Harris Rosen hosted by Scott Joseph” takes place Thursday, Junio 28 desde 6:30 a 9 p.m. and features special guest, Bryan Del Bondio, president of Markham Vineyards in St. Helena, Calif., whose wines will be featured along with the five-course meal. Rosen, whom Joseph has called a “charming and gracious host as well as a great storyteller,” will visit with guests and share stories about Everglades Restaurant and its tie-in to Everglades National Park, among other engaging tales about his life and business. Seating is limited to ensure an intimate and enjoyable experience for each guest.
The five-course dinner follows suit with the Healthy Summer menu concept which Rosen spearheaded as a way to provide healthy menu options in a fine dining setting. The May Vine & Dine event was themed “Food for Thought” and featured foods that nourished mind, body and soul.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a welcome reception in the Everglades Bar, where guests can enjoy a glass of Markham Sauvignon Blanc, 2010 Napa Valley. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. and is soon followed by the first course: Whole Wheat Angel Hair, Morels, Asparagus in Saffron Tomato Broth and Markham Chardonnay, 2010 Napa Valley. The second course is comprised of Roasted Quail & Sweet Grape Jus paired with a Markham Merlot, 2009 Napa Valley, followed by a Pink Grapefruit Sorbet to cleanse the palate before moving on to the entrée.
For the main course, patrons will enjoy Filet of Buffalo Au Poivre with Blueberry Balsamic Sauce & Blueberry Onion Jam, served with a Baked Sweet Potato & Wilted Arugula and paired with a Markham’s “The Altruist” Cabernet Sauvignon, Calistoga Estate Vineyard, 2006 Napa Valley, which is made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. This particular wine is dedicated to Markham’s “Mark of Distinction” winners, a program in which the vineyard awards grants to passionate and inspiring individuals to complete projects that make a positive impact on their community. The wine was selected as a tie-in to Mr. Rosen’s extensive philanthropy work.
Guests will surely want to leave room for dessert: a trio of treats including a Pecan Tuile with Mascarpone Cream, Fresh Blueberries and Strawberries Peach Melba Cheesecake, and Grand Marnier Chocolate Mousse, accompanied by Santa Marguerita Prosecco.
The cost of the event is $95 per person including tax and gratuity. Diners may make their evenings even more special by spending the night in a deluxe guest room for a special rate of only $69 más impuestos. As with all Everglades dining experiences, valet parking is complimentary. The third installment of “A Dinner with Harris Rosen hosted by Scott Joseph” is scheduled for the fall at Rosen Shingle Creek.
Reservations are required via www.ScottJosephOrlando.com. Para obtener más información, visita www.evergladesrestaurant.com o www.rosencentre.com o llame al 407-996-8560. The next Vine & Dine events at Rosen Centre will take place July 27 and Oct. 26, 2012.
About Markham Vineyeards: Bordeaux immigrant Jean Laurent came to California in 1852 to seek gold, but instead founded one of the first wineries in Napa Valley. Bruce Markham arrived in Napa Valley almost 100 years later, also looking to start a winery. En 1978, he founded Markham Vineyards and the old Laurent winery was reborn. En 1988, the old Laurent Winery once again rose like a phoenix to take on another new life. The winery was sold to Mercian Corporation and began an ambitious four-year, multi-million dollar renovation, expansion and vineyard-replanting program. These efforts would more than double the capacity and make Markham one of the most advanced, winemaking facilities in the country. Even through the renovation, Markham was able to produce three of the number-one rated wines from California, as judged by Wine Spectator magazine.
About Bryan Del Bondio: Winemaking is a Del Bondio family tradition. Bryan’s grandparents settled in the Napa Valley over 100 years ago. His father, Al, worked at Inglenook for 45 years and taught his son about the unique and challenging art and science of winemaking. His mother, Marie, also spent 40 years at Inglenook. Del Bondio’s formal education was completed in 1977 when he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Viticulture from the University of California, Davis. En 1977, he joined Markham Vineyards as General Manager, and in January of 1988 was promoted to President.
About Scott Joseph: The author and creator of Scott Joseph’s Orlando Restaurant Guide, Joseph has been reviewing restaurants in Central Florida and beyond for more than 20 años. In that time he established himself as the most trusted, reliable and comprehensive source of restaurant information in the region. During his career at the Orlando Sentinel, Joseph wrote thousands of reviews under his two spotlight columns, Chow Hound y Table Matters. His other columns have included State Fare, Takeout Cuisine, The Right Wine, and Let’s Do Lunch.
About Harris Rosen: The President & Director de Operaciones de Hoteles Rosen & Resorts, Harris Rosen is a self-made businessman known throughout the Central Florida area for his dedication to philanthropic efforts, including the creation of the Tangelo Park Project, a program he started in 1993 which offers free preschool as well as full college and vocational school scholarships to disadvantaged youth in the Tangelo Park neighborhood, as well as his sizable contributions to create the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management and the Jack & Lee Rosen Southwest Orlando Jewish Community Center. Dedicated to the health and wellness of his associates, he has been earned national recognition for his cost-saving and forward-thinking onsite healthcare program as well as his relief work for earthquake victims in Japan and in Haiti.
