“Everglades Goes Green” This Summer With Rosen Centre’s Organic Vine and Dine Event

Eco-Friendly Hotel Continues 2009 Series With June 12 Event Celebrating Sustainable Wines and New Seasonal Summer Menu

ORLANDO (May 29, 2009) — Rosen Centre recently was recognized as one of the only three Two Palm Green Lodges in Central Florida (along with sister properties Rosen Shingle Creek and Rosen Plaza) as part of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging Program. In celebration, the hotel is hosting the next “Vine and Dine” Series event on Friday, June 12 with a very special “Everglades Goes Green” theme. True to the green theme, the event will feature a five-course gourmet feast including items from Everglades restaurant’s new seasonal summer menu paired to perfection with a selection of organic wines from Paul Dolan and Parducci Family Wineries, wine industry leaders for sustainable and organic farming.

The dinner begins in Rosen Centre’s Quiet Bar at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 12. Guests will sample the first wine selection then continue to the Everglades Restaurant dining room for their romantic and organic feast. Making the evening even more memorable, Greg Gauci from the Mendocino Wine Company, which owns the featured wineries, will be educating guests about the various levels of wines that make them eco-friendly and developments in the sustainable wine industry. For more details about the Mendocino Wine Company, visit www.mendocinowineco.com.

Each of the five courses includes ingredients that are typically associated with organic cuisine. The first course of the evening is an Indian River Salad blending fresh greens with wild berries and topped off with blood orange vinaigrette. Next comes Oak Smoked Scallops, served with beluga lentils and a banzu salad with a champagne citrus drizzle. After the refreshing Key Lime Sorbet cleanses the palate, a main course of Pan Seared Buffalo follows, served with foie gras sabayon and swamp cabbage. For dessert, a light but delectable dish of Strawberry Tuile tantalizes the senses.

Cost of the Vine and Dine dinner is $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and includes complimentary valet parking Space is limited. For reservations, call 407 996-8560. For more information, visit www.evergladesrestaurant.com or www.rosencentre.com.

The five-part 2009 Vine and Dine series will be seasonally themed to make the most of fresh, seasonal ingredients and will feature selections from various wineries that are specifically chosen to complement the cuisine.
