Rosen Centre Hotel Offers Up a Slice Of Gratitude to America’s Heroes With Donation to Homefront Hugs USA for Every Pie Sold Jan. 18-23

Award-Winning Orlando Hotel To Give Guests Free Slice of Pie with Every Entrée Sold at its Restaurants on National Pie Day, Jan. 23

ORLANDO (Jan. 14, 2010) – As America celebrates National Pie Day on Saturday, January 23, Rosen Centre, one of Orlando’s leading business and meeting/convention properties and a multiple award winner for its superb catering program, will take the opportunity not only to offer guests a free slice of its mouth-watering, homemade pies, but also to offer support and thanks to America’s troops, home and abroad.

On National Pie Day, Jan. 23, Rosen Centre will offer guests a free slice of pie with every entrée sold at its two onsite restaurants, Café Gauguin and the Everglades Restaurant. Throughout the week, from Monday, Jan. 18 through Saturday, Jan. 23, Rosen Centre will sell its whole Key Lime and Sugar-Free Apple pies for just $10. For every $10 pie sold that week, the “pie-triotic” hotel will donate $2 to Homefront Hugs USA (www.homefronthugs.com), non-profit, Florida-based organization dedicated to supporting U.S. troops and their families. To order a Rosen Centre pie or for more details, call Priscilla Malave at 407-996-8560.

The hotel will not be the alone in celebrating the unifying power of pie this National Pie Day.  The American Pie Council (APC), creators of National Pie Day, encourages Americans across the country to show their gratitude by sharing pie with a hero in their lives—military or otherwise. As the nation continues to navigate through challenging times, the APC recognizes that we still have much to be grateful for and many people to thank: the men and women who defend our nation, friends and neighbors who volunteer time to worthy causes, and family members who are always there for us. The APC and its associate members and bakeries are proud to offer their services on National Pie Day, Jan. 23, to help folks say “thank you” using pie as a gesture of kindness, just as was done in “kinder, simpler” days gone by.
